Rebuilding Lives 

    9/11 Environmental Action formed in the months following September 11th and has worked ever since to protect the health of the Downtown Community. Key to our mission is making sure that those who were affected physically or emotionally by the WTC disaster get the heath care they need and deserve.

    Our goal is to raise awareness of 9/11 health issues and options for treatment among community residents, and those who worked or went to school in the area of the World Trade Center.  We are also here to assist disaster relief volunteers from NYC and beyond who gave so much to our city at such a difficult time.

    We are here for support, information and health program enrollment assistance.

OUR AGENDA FOR 2013

9/11 Environmental Action has received a grant from the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH) to disseminate information about who is eligible for World Trade Center (WTC) Health Program membership.

We will provide guidance on how to enroll to survivors (downtown workers, residents and students) and disaster relief volunteers (including individuals and volunteer group members).

9/11 EA will closely partner with the survivor organization, StuyHealth, to reach a population of former students, now young adults, locally and nationally. 9/11 EA will also collaborate with the Ground Zero Fellowship to reach a responder population of affected disaster relief volunteers.

The 9/11 Environmental Action (9/11 EA) project will utilize innovative social networking techniques, web-based film clips in English, Spanish and Chinese, and traditional outreach methods, to reach as broad a population as possible.
